flat tummy

I’ve been on a journey to lose belly fat and inches from my waist. I started working out and using a waist trimmer, which really got me off to a good start. But the truth is that you are what you eat! So, when I sat and asked myself how to lose belly fat even more effectively, I knew I needed to have a proper diet. I’m here to share the tops foods that will help you burn belly fat and have the flat tummy you’ve always wanted.

How to Lose Belly Fat by Cutting Out These Offenders

It’s important to cut back, or even eliminate, ultra-processed foods, processed sugar, bubbly drinks, and alcoholic beverages. These foods lead to bloating and wait gain. Cutting them out will improve your gut health and help you have a flat tummy.

Consume Fermented Foods as Part of a Healthy Ab Diet

Probiotics are really important for gut health! They can be found in fermented foods like miso, tempeh, plain Greek yoghurt and sauerkraut. Make sure they contain live cultures and don’t have any added sugars.

Add Oats to Your Diet

The Prebiotics in oats feed the good bacteria already living there, helping it proliferate. Also, oats provide energy and really satiate hunger, making them essential for a belly fat diet.

Nuts to You!

Nuts are rich in monounsaturated fats, a heart-healthy (and more satisfying) pick than their grain-based counterparts.

Don’t Leave out the Leafy Greens

Leafy greens and cauliflower contain a lot of plant-based omega-3s They’re loaded with minerals like potassium, which can help offset the bloat-inducing effects of sodium.

Add Berries for a Healthy Treat

Craving something sweet? Berries are the way to go! They actually contain less sugar than many other fruits, but they have a lot of fiber, vitamins (especially c) and antioxidants. They are really satisfying and healthy.

Include Some Good Fats like Olive Oil and Avocadoes

You need fats in your life! They are good for your brain, skin, and they help you feel full. But skip deep fried foods and saturated fats that can lead to weight gain and use plant-based oils like extra-virgin olive oil instead. Don’t forget to include avocadoes as part of your healthy fats.

Eat Lean Proteins, Especially Fish

It doesn’t get any better than fish when it comes to healthy protein. They’re filled with important omega-3s and are filling, which can help you curb cravings.

Don’t forget the Eggs

High-protein breakfasts, especially ones that include eggs, have been linked to weight loss, which reduces belly fat in the process. Eggs have good cholesterol, protein, vitamins and minerals. You can even eat the yolk!

Whole Grains for a Trimmer Tummy

With the whole anti-carb and anti-gluten craze, grains have gotten a bad rap. But whole grains are really good for you, as long as you stick to WHOLE and stay away from refined grains. Brown rice, wheat, barley, millet, and farro are some of the best for busting the bloat and providing lots of minerals and vitamins. They are also very filling, helping you eat less.

Beans and Lentils For Reducing Belly Fat

I bet you didn’t think you’d find beans and lentils on a list of how to lose belly fat, but they’re filled with fiber and plant-based protein, plus minerals and B-vitamins. Overall, they reduce bloat by aiding your nervous and muscular systems, and help you build lean body mass.

Add a Banana to your Morning

Bananas have potassium, magnesium, and prebiotics, which means they can help offset the bloat. They do contain a lot of natural sugar, so it’s best to eat them early on in the day.

Save Room for some Citrus

Citrus contains a lot of potassium, which helps combat bloat while the antioxidants it contains help fight inflammation, which is associated with storing belly-fat.

Give Yourself a Boost of Energy with Green Tea

Studies show that three cups daily may rev up your metabolism and burn 30 calories. Green tea contains the compound ECGC, which makes it easier to burn fat.

Bring Some Spice to Your Life

Certain spices, including garlic, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and chili peppers, have potent inflammation-reducing capabilities, so try adding them to meals as often as possible in order to help burn belly fat.
